Our Year 12 & 13 Travel and Tourism students had an amazing time exploring the Black Country Living Museum this week! From venturing into a mine and cruising the canal to stepping back in time through historic buildings it was a day full of hands-on learning. The students also got a behind-the-scenes look at how the museum is managed, including its challenges and social media strategy. A brilliant day of discovery and immersive learning for our students! #SixthForm #TravelAndTourism #BlackCountryLivingMuseum
Yesterday evening, Thursday 8th May, our school's Cadet Force proudly participated in the VE Day 80th Anniversary Commemoration, hosted by Wootton Parish Council. The cadets demonstrated their foot drill and marched with pride to honour Victory in Europe Day, marking 80 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe. As part of the event, year 8 student, Lilac Braidley delivered a moving tribute in honour of all those who have served, past and present. Her words were a poignant reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and resilience shown by so many. The commemoration, held in the heart of the Wootton community, concluded with the symbolic lighting of the beacon at 9:30pm, joining many others across the country in remembrance and unity. We are incredibly proud of our cadets for their dedication and respectful contribution to this significant occasion.
Our Musical Theatre Club is busy rehearsing two lively numbers from Bugsy Malone "Down and Out" and "Fat Sam's Grand Slam." We can't wait to showcase their hard work at our Performing Arts Evening on 10th July more details coming soon! We recently ran a Performing Arts competition where students submitted videos of themselves singing and performing. A huge congratulations to our winners: Year 8: Daniel, Caitlin, Sophia B, Lilah and Year 9: Abbie & Olivia. A special mention goes to Daniel, who was awarded the Teacher's Choice Award for his outstanding solo performance, and to Lilah, who received the Student Choice Award, voted for by her peers in the club. Yesterday, CCS proudly hosted the Year 7 Girls' Football Tournament, welcoming teams from Sponne, Parker, and Guilsborough. We are thrilled to share that our CCS A Team won the tournament! The girls, pictured in mint green, showcased fantastic skill and determination throughout the competition. A huge well done to all the girls who represented CCS so brilliantly – we are incredibly proud of you! The event was also supported by our amazing Year 9 'Go Lead' girls, who played a vital role in refereeing, scoring, timing and team management. They were fantastic ambassadors for female leadership in sport and brilliant role models for the younger players. Thank you to each of them for their amazing support and enthusiasm. A special thank you goes to Miss Amanda Evans for her dedication and organisation in making the event such a success. As we look ahead to the summer term, we're excited to announce that rounders, tennis, cricket, and athletics are now in season. Students can sign up for these sports on EduLink – don't miss out on the chance to get involved!
Last week, our Year 3 children took advantage of the beautiful weather by bringing their books outside for a special outdoor reading session. Transporting over all their usual favourites to the Year 1 garden area, LRC Manager Mrs Howes set up a fun opportunity for the group to enjoy reading their much-loved stories in the sunshine. There were lots of smiling faces all-round and the children certainly enjoyed this special treat!

What a monstrously magical start to the term for our reception children! Last Tuesday, our youngest learners in Foundation Stage kicked off their first day back with an exciting theatre trip to see 'There's a Monster in Your Show' by Tom Fletcher. Miss Keeley Hancock, one of our Foundation Stage Leaders, shared: "From the moment we arrived, the children were buzzing with excitement. The theatre was full of colourful lights, fun music, and of courseplenty of giggles! The show brought Tom Fletcher's beloved characters to life, and the children loved joining in with the singing, dancing, and silliness. With monsters, dragons, aliens, and unicorns on stage, there was never a dull momentand it was such a joy to see our little ones so engaged and full of wonder. The coach ride was just as fun, filled with happy chatter (and a few sleepy heads on the way home ). A magical day packed with laughter, imagination, and special memories to treasure!"
“Pupils are well supported for their next steps in education and training. Opportunities for extra-curricular activity are highly regarded. These include a wide range of sports, dance, drama and visual arts."
“Every teacher I have is incredibly passionate in the subject they teach. We engage with them, because they engage us. They want to be with us in the classroom.”
At Caroline Chisholm School we are very proud of our Alumni. Our students go on to achieve in a wide range of fields and often say that the work ethic, social skills and confidence they develop during their time with us has helped them in their careers.
