Caroline Chisholm School was the UK’s first purpose built all-through school which opened in state-of-the-art facilities in 2004. The school is a dynamic, successful and highly over-subscribed academy with over 2000 students on roll, of which 420 pupils are in the primary phase and around 300 students in the Sixth form. Our facilities include an extensive Design & Technology department which includes a wood workshop, textile and state of the art cookery rooms, and an electronics studio, IT suites, a bespoke visual art area and gallery and a sixth form centre.

CCS Visual Arts Trip to London! On Tuesday, our Year 12 Fine Art students and Year 13 Fine Art and Photography students headed to London for an inspiring day at the Victoria & Albert Museum and Tate Modern. Year 12 have just begun their major A Level project, the Personal Investigation, each choosing their own unique theme. Meanwhile, Year 13 students are diving into their externallyset final project, selecting one theme from those provided by the exam board. Both groups had the chance to explore a huge range of artworks firsthand, gathering valuable contextual research to fuel their ideas. Back at school, students will develop this research in their sketchbooks, using what they discovered to shape and refine their creative investigations. Our students were fantastic ambassadors for CCS throughout the trip. They were engaged, curious, and a real credit to the school. Thank you to all of them for making the day so memorable. We can't wait to see how their research inspires their final outcomes!
Year 2 have been busy becoming information text experts this term! The children began by exploring the key features of non-fiction texts, such as subheadings, diagrams and text devices like bullet points, to make information clear and engaging for the reader. They then chose their favourite animal and researched it, organising their ideas under subheadings including diet, habitat and appearance, along with some exciting "wow" facts! Throughout the process, the children showed great creativity and positivity, taking pride in their neat handwriting and presentation. On Tuesday, parents were invited to view our gallery of information posters, where the children confidently shared their work and celebrated each other's achievements.
Last Friday, our primary pupils dressed up as colours and rock stars to celebrate Number Day! As part of our commitment to make maths engaging and to raise its profile across our school, students in Primary took part in the NSPCC Number Day. Number Day is a great way to make maths meaningful, fun and bring about a positive, 'can-do' attitude towards the subject. Our colourful numbers and rock stars truly shone! #NumberDay #TTRockStars #NSPCC
U14 Girls County Cup – Semi-Final Result Last Wednesday, the CCS U14 Girls Football Team secured their place in the County Cup Final with an outstanding 15–0 victory over Lodge Park in the semi-final. CCS showed control throughout the match, combining strong teamwork with confident attacking play. Their relentless pressure and clinical finishing set the tone for a commanding performance. Player of the Match, P Desborough, delivered an exceptional display, contributing significantly to the team's success. This impressive win now sends CCS through to the U14 County Cup Final. Congratulations to the entire team on a fantastic achievement!
Last Tuesday, six of our Year 5 children took part in a New Age Kurling tournament at Benham Sports Centre. Competing against 12 other schools, our team won every game in their heat to top the group and went through to play for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The play off was tense, with CCS watching the first round. Showing true sportsmanship, they cheered on each of the stones from the other two teams and applauded them. CCS won the first play off, although it was tight with some outstanding stones. On the second of their play offs, CCS were narrowly defeated to gain a very well deserved 2nd place. Following the competition, we received the following email from Alex from Northamptonshire Sport, who arranged and organised the event. "I just wanted to send a quick email following the New Age Kurling competition that you sent a team along to today at Benham. Not only did they perform brilliantly (coming 2nd in their competition!), but their behaviour and sportsmanship was incredible. They were supportive and encouraging to other teams which was wonderful to watch. They really did do your school proud today." We are very proud of the team and how they conducted themselves!
We are excited to share on the 1st March, two members of our Aspire team - Ms Donna Sinclair and Mrs Kerrie Svendsen are taking on the incredible challenge of walking barefoot across burning hot embers, all in support of The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation. The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation works tirelessly to support disadvantaged individuals and families across Northamptonshire, from providing food parcels and essential household items to running wellbeing projects and offering a helping hand when it's needed most. Every donation makes a difference and every penny raised will go directly towards helping people who need it most. If you'd like to show your support and help Ms Sinclair and Mrs Svendsen reach their fundraising goal, both of their Just Giving pages are available via the links below: Donna - https://www.justgiving.com/page/donna-sinclair-2?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL Kerrie - https://www.justgiving.com/page/kerrie-svendsen-1?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=EM Thank you for supporting this amazing cause!
Year 11 Netball Fixture – A Moment of Reflection During yesterday's Year 11 netball fixture, our students took a moment to honour the memory of Mr Phillips, a much loved former member of staff who recently passed away. Before play began, our Year 11 team gathered together for a minute's silence. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Quinton House for joining us in this moment of remembrance. It was a touching tribute and a reminder of the lasting impact Mr Phillips had on those around him.
