Caroline Chisholm School was the UK’s first purpose built all-through school which opened in state-of-the-art facilities in 2004. The school is a dynamic, successful and highly over-subscribed academy with over 2000 students on roll, of which 420 pupils are in the primary phase and around 300 students in the Sixth form. Our facilities include an extensive Design & Technology department which includes a wood workshop, textile and state of the art cookery rooms, and an electronics studio, IT suites, a bespoke visual art area and gallery and a sixth form centre.

We're proud to congratulate our alumni Jamie Waller, who was featured on the local news yesterday for her remarkable rediscovery of the Hollyhock Seed Moth, a species not recorded in Northamptonshire since 1940. During a 13week field study at Delapré Abbey, Jamie identified the moth while cataloguing over 1,300+ species, a finding later verified by county experts. Currently studying Biological Sciences at the University of Northampton, Jamie continues to shine as a dedicated and passionate young researcher. Her work highlights the ecological importance of oftenoverlooked moth species and reflects her commitment to understanding and protecting local biodiversity. We're delighted to see Jamie's achievements recognised and can't wait to see where her scientific journey leads next! Celebrating Parents' Mental Health Day As part of our celebrations for Parents' Mental Health Day last week, our Primary students got wonderfully creative! Each class designed something special to show appreciation for the loved ones who support them every day. From books of coupons, to pockets filled with heartfelt messages, to "mugs of love", and many other bespoke creations... the imagination and care our students put into their designs were lovely to see. A wonderful opportunity for children to express their gratitude, reminding us all how meaningful these small, thoughtful gestures can be.
A very special thank you to Saffron Jade Corcoran, Ms East Midlands Galaxy 2025/26, who, in her role championing kindness and community support, generously donated four boxes of incredible science kits for our primary children to enjoy! These kits are greatly appreciated, and in fantastic timing too with British Science Week just over a month away.
Final reminder! Applications close: Monday 2 February 2026. Extended deadline to allow for the weekend. If you're in Year 11 and thinking about life after GCSEs, our Sixth Form could be the perfect next step. Last week, our Year 3/4 team took part in the Sports Hall Athletics competition at Daventry Leisure Centre, held as part of the NSPort programme. Thirtytwo teams competed across a wide range of indoor athletic events, including the 1lap and 2lap relays, obstacle and team relays, as well as field events such as the vertical jump, standing long jump (five strides), and chest push. Throughout the afternoon, our pupils showed fantastic determination, teamwork, and sporting attitude. Their hard work paid off with a fantastic 4thplace finish out of 32 teams. We are incredibly proud of every member of the team for their effort, enthusiasm, and superb representation of the school.
On Saturday 17th January, 11 of our students proudly represented South Northamptonshire at the recent cross-country fixture held at Abington Park, having all successfully qualified through the district round. The event brought together strong runners from across the county, with our students delivering some excellent individual performances on a challenging course. Outstanding results included a 1st place finish for B. Lamb, 3rd place for F. Carty (pictured) and 5th place finish R. Tannasee in the Under 15 girls. E. Taylor also impressed with a 6th place finish in the under 17 girls race, whilst L. Barton (also pictured) finished 9th in the under 11 boys race. H. Marriott had a strong run to finish in 10th place in the under 15 boys race! Further commendable performances came from: J. Pratt-Masey – 34th K. Mistry – 35th S. Bell – 27th E. Arnsby – 37th Each student represented South Northamptonshire with pride, commitment, and excellent sportsmanship. Competing at this level is a fantastic achievement in itself. Congratulations to all athletes involved, and best of luck to those who have qualified to progress to the next round of the competition.
On Wednesday, our Year 5 classes came together to tackle a long neglected corner of our outdoor learning space, taking part in a collaborative litter picking session. One of the challenges for students was to see who could find the oldest piece of rubbish, to everyone's surprise, some of the rubbish had been there for over two decades! With the oldest item dated back to 2004. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to demonstrate their care for the environment and to put their empathy and community values into action. Well done Year 5!
