Wellbeing Award for Schools - Accreditation

At Caroline Chisholm School we are thrilled to announce that we have successfully achieved the Wellbeing Award for Schools accreditation. This milestone follows 18 months of dedicated efforts supported by Optimus Education. The award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our school staff and students, who have been instrumental in reviewing and enhancing our support systems for mental health and wellbeing.

The Wellbeing Award for Schools, established by the National Children’s Bureau, provides a comprehensive framework for schools to evaluate their wellbeing practices and implement expert guidance to foster a supportive and nurturing environment for students. Through this accreditation process, CCS has adopted best practices to ensure the mental health and wellbeing of our students and staff are prioritised and continuously improved.

Recent surveys have demonstrated the positive impact of our initiatives. Such as our ‘Wellbeing Champions’ who are ambassadors for wellbeing and sharing useful messages while working on student-led initiatives to ensure their voices are being represented throughout the school. We have also invested in locations in the school where students can go to develop their wellbeing, including a ‘Wellbeing Snug’ in our KS2 corridor. Surveys also showed significant improvements in the overall wellbeing of our school community. We are proud of the progress made and remain committed to further advancements guided by this invaluable scheme.

"Our journey towards achieving the Wellbeing Award for Schools has been both enlightening and rewarding," said Mr James, Principal of CCS. "This accreditation not only highlights our dedication to student wellbeing, but also serves as a foundation for ongoing improvements. We are grateful to our staff and students for their support and hard work."

As we celebrate this achievement, CCS looks forward to building on our successes and continuing to build upon a nurturing and supportive environment for all our students.
