  • End of term 1 - Updates

    Published 25/10/24, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

    25 October 2024

    Dear parent and carers,

As we approach the end of our first term, I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for your continued support and collaboration with the school. Your involvement plays a crucial role in our students' success, and we truly appreciate your commitment and dedication.

    Student Behaviour

We are pleased to share that we have observed a continued improvement in student behaviour this term. Our students have demonstrated increased respect, responsibility, and a positive attitude towards their peers and staff. This progress is a testament to the strong partnership between home and school, and we thank you for reinforcing these values at home.

    Attendance and Punctuality

While we celebrate these achievements, we have noticed an increase in student lateness. Regular attendance and punctuality are vital for students to make the most of their educational opportunities. We kindly ask for your continued support in ensuring that your child arrives on time each day at 8:40am, ready to learn. Together, we can work towards reducing lateness and fostering a culture of punctuality.

    Car park

We have observed an increase in the number of parents parking in dangerous areas around the school, causing a nuisance to the community and particularly blocking access for emergency vehicles. This not only poses a risk to the safety of our students and staff, but also violates local parking enforcements.

West Northamptonshire Council have asked us to report any “nuisance parking” in and around the school, including parking in residential areas for drop off and pick up. Which may lead to a £70 penalty notice being issued.

We kindly ask all parents to encourage their children to walk to school where possible and be mindful of where they park to ensure that access routes always remain clear. It is essential that emergency vehicles can reach our school without delay.

    Chartwells - Change in Process

We will be phasing out the use of white slips for allowing students to have lunch in the school canteen. Instead, parents will now receive an automated notification if their Chartwells ParentPay account is in arrears. This new system is designed to streamline the process and ensure that students have a seamless experience during lunchtime.

    • You will receive an automated notification when your account needs funds. Please ensure your account is set up and contact information is updated.
    • To prevent any disruption in your child's ability to receive lunch, please make sure to add funds to your Chartwells ParentPay account promptly upon receiving a notification.
    • Regularly check your account balance to avoid any arrears. Maintaining a positive balance will ensure your child continues to access lunch without any issues.

If you have any questions or need assistance with setting up or managing your Chartwells ParentPay account, please contact Chartwells at u96254@compass-group.co.uk  Chartwells is onsite to assist you.

Thank you once again for your ongoing partnership. We wish you and your family a restful and enjoyable half term.

    Kind regards,

    Mr David James

    Principal

  • Upcoming charity events

    Published 18/10/24, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

    18th October 2024

    Dear Parent and Carer,

Here at Caroline Chisholm School, we eager to support important charitable initiatives and we have two exciting charity events coming up that we would like your help with.

Tuesday 12th November – ‘Odd Socks Day’ in aid of Anti-Bullying Week 2024

This year, Anti-Bullying Week takes place from 11th – 15th November. This year's theme is ‘Choose Respect’ and includes with Odd Socks Day on Tuesday 12th November! We would love for students of all ages to take part by simply wearing odd socks to school on this day. This fun and simple activity highlights our commitment to respect and acceptance, reminding us that our differences make us unique. Throughout the week, each class will engage in discussions about bullying and the importance of kindness.

Friday 15th November - CHILDREN IN NEED 2024 - Whole School Non-Uniform Day

We are thrilled to support the BBC’s Children in Need appeal again this year! The theme is ‘Make Life Lighter for Children’. Children across the UK are facing greater challenges than ever, with mental health conditions such as anxiety & depression rising, high levels of poverty leading to inequality & lack of opportunity. Currently, Children in Need are only able to fund 1 in 8 organisations who ask for help. This theme encourages us to support Children in Need so they can continue help to lighten the load for hundreds of thousands of children when they need it the most.

On Friday 15th November, all pupils are invited to wear their own clothes to school in support of Children in Need. We are asking parents and carers to make a minimum donation of £1 using their ParentPay account in exchange for the opportunity for their child to wear non-uniform clothes for the day. This is now available to pay on your child's ParentPay account. When you select the ‘Charity - Children in Need 2024’ ParentPay item, you should select “Choose payment amount” and then enter the amount you wish to pay. Please make your payment before or on Friday 15th November; however, the payment item will remain open until Friday 22nd November to allow time for donations to be made.

Primary students are encouraged to wear ‘Pudsey themed’ dress or anything bright and cheerful to join in the fun, if they wish.

Secondary students are encouraged to wear Children in Need attire or anything bright and cheerful to join in the fun. We expect all our Secondary and Sixth Form students to wear appropriate attire. Students must wear shorts and skirts of an appropriate length.

Students are not able to wear:

    • Impractical footwear e.g. flip flops, open toed footwear
    • Crop tops/vests
    • Short skirts / short shorts

We do hope that everyone will join us in supporting these very worthwhile causes.

    Yours sincerely,

Mr O’Boyle, Miss Coleman/Mrs Kirk, Mrs Starr
